CSV Import
The CSV Import feature lets you bring existing time data into Meridian Track from spreadsheets or other tools.
Starting an Import
Section titled “Starting an Import”- Navigate to Time Entries and click the Import button.
- Select a CSV file from your computer. The file should include columns for dates, times, and durations at minimum.
Column Mapping
Section titled “Column Mapping”After uploading, the import wizard displays a mapping step where you match your CSV columns to Meridian Track fields:
- Start date/time (required)
- End date/time or Duration (one is required)
- Project
- Client
- Tags
- Notes
- Billable
The wizard shows a preview of the first few rows so you can verify that each column is mapped correctly. Unmapped columns are ignored.
Review and Confirm
Section titled “Review and Confirm”Once columns are mapped, the wizard validates the data and presents a summary:
- Total number of entries to import.
- Any rows that passed validation.
- Any rows with errors or warnings.
Review the summary and click Confirm Import to proceed. Valid entries are created as time entries in your account.
Handling Errors
Section titled “Handling Errors”Rows that fail validation are flagged with a description of the problem, such as:
- Missing required fields (start date or duration).
- Invalid date or time formats.
- Unrecognized project or client names.
You can fix the issues in your CSV file and re-import, or proceed with a partial import that skips the invalid rows. The import summary shows the final count of successfully imported entries and any that were skipped.
