Shared Reports
Shared reports let you generate a link that gives others view-only access to a report without requiring them to log in to Meridian Track.
Creating a Shared Report
Section titled “Creating a Shared Report”- Navigate to Reports in the sidebar.
- Open or generate the report you want to share.
- Click Share.
- Configure the shared link:
- Filters — Optionally adjust the filters to control what data the recipient sees. You may want to limit the report to a specific client or project.
- Password Protection — Toggle on to require a password before the report can be viewed. Enter a password that you will share with the recipient separately.
- Click Create Link.
- Copy the generated URL.
Sharing with Clients or Team Members
Section titled “Sharing with Clients or Team Members”Send the copied link to anyone who needs to view the report. Recipients open the link in their browser and see the report immediately — or after entering the password, if one was set.
No Meridian Track account is required to view a shared report.
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Share a weekly summary with a client so they can review hours billed to their projects.
- Give a team lead read-only access to a project report without adding them to your workspace.
- Provide stakeholders with a monthly overview without exporting and emailing files.
Managing Shared Links
Section titled “Managing Shared Links”To view and manage your shared report links:
- Go to Reports in the sidebar.
- Open the report that has shared links.
- Active shared links are listed with their creation date and password status.
From this view you can:
- Copy the link again.
- Delete a shared link to revoke access immediately. Anyone with the old URL will no longer be able to view the report.
Security Considerations
Section titled “Security Considerations”- Shared links use a unique token. The URL alone grants access (unless password-protected).
- Use password protection when sharing sensitive financial data.
- Delete shared links as soon as they are no longer needed to limit exposure.
- Shared reports display a point-in-time snapshot based on the configured filters.
